Music Club Phoenix teacher and musician Xavier Bot will be jamming with students this week as part of a new Special Focus class option. Students are welcome to join Xav with or without instruments in the Adventure Centre on Thursdays between 2-3.30pm. No instruments or talent is required- just a desire to sing, play, tap or hum along and use English in a musical context.
Get involved in our Friday Sports... Thanks to Phoenix teacher Craig James who kicked off the summer Student Sports Club season last Friday on Beatty Park Oval. Craig will be running Sports Club every Friday alternating between 18+ and Under 18’s students. |

Michal Ondrasik writes to Phoenix.. “ I come from Slovakia, I’m 20 years old and I am currently a student at the American University of Paris. I did the 12 weeks Business course and the 12 weeks CAE course at Phoenix in 2008 and I can say it was a huge step forward for me. At first, in the age of 16 I had to live on my own for half a year which made me much less dependent on my parents and it taught me to responsibility and self-efficiency. But moreover both of those courses moved my English to a whole new level, which I find very practical nowadays. When I returned home I also did IELTS academic a year after Australia without any preparations I got 7.5, which I think is quite good. Now I’m studying International Economics as a major and Applied Math and International Business Administration as two minors, so also the business course was very helpful. Overall I find my Phoenix experience extremely beneficial and I would recommend it to everybody who plans to study in English. Best regards, Michal Ondrasik
